Rafaela Gravia is an architect and researcher in sustainable development whose work blends art, design and environmental consciousness. Born and based in Brasília — a city known for its bold forms and poetic landscapes — she draws deep inspiration from her surroundings to create timeless pieces that tell intimate, symbolic stories.
Each of her creations is an expression of lived experiences, transformed into design with identity, purpose, and respect for the planet. In Rafaela’s journey, aesthetics and sustainability are inseparable: her pieces are meant to endure, forging meaningful connections between people and the spaces they inhabit.
Since 2016, Rafaela has been dedicated to contemporary, authorial furniture. Her work has been featured in exhibitions and design events across Brazil and abroad. One of her pieces is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Art of Brasília (MAB), where she also designed the MAB bench as part of the museum's permanent furniture. In 2024, she was honored with the Silver Winner award at the NY Product Awards for her Monolitos armchair.
Rafaela is a PhD candidate in Sustainable Development at the University of Brasília (UnB). She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture, Technology, and City from UNICAMP (2020), and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from UnB (2016), including a study-abroad program at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Strasbourg in France (2013–2014).
